UA Hydra Glow
A hydrating, brightening treatment for the underarm area.
- Darkened underarms
- Rough underarm texture
- Ingrown bumps
- Post-shaving irritation
What is UA Hydra Glow?
UA Hydra Glow applies the same clear-and-infuse method used on the face to the underarm, where shaving, friction and product build-up leave the skin rough and darker than the surrounding area.
It works on texture and surface build-up. Pigment that sits deeper may need a laser approach instead, and you should be told which one you are dealing with at assessment rather than after a course.
This is a clearing and hydrating treatment, not a hair removal treatment and not a bleaching treatment. Underarm darkening has several causes — friction, shaving, irritation, product, and sometimes pigment at depth — and only some of them answer to this. Part of the consultation is working out which one you have.
- Time
- A short session; confirmed at booking
- Downtime
- Usually none. The area can be sensitive briefly
- Sessions
- Usually a short course
- Results
- Texture improves early; tone changes more gradually
- Comfort
- The same cool suction as the facial, on thinner and more sensitive skin
Is this the right treatment for you?
Underarms rougher and darker than the rest of you?
Shaving and friction cause most of it, and both respond to this.
Tried scrubs and lightening creams without much change?
Those work on the surface only. This clears more thoroughly and feeds the skin at the same time.
Want it ready for sleeveless?
Start early. This is a short course, not a single appointment.
Prone to ingrowns?
Clearing build-up helps, but raise recurring ingrowns at consultation so the plan accounts for them.
When it is not appropriate
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, active infection or inflamed skin in the treatment area, recent isotretinoin use, photosensitising medication, and a history of keloid scarring all need to be raised before anything is booked. Tell the practitioner about every medication and supplement you are taking. Do not book while the area is broken, shaved raw or irritated.
What happens in a session
Consult
The area is assessed and the cause of the darkening is identified as far as it can be.
Prepare
The skin is cleansed and prepared, and sensitivity is checked.
Clear and infuse
The handpiece clears build-up while hydrating and brightening solution goes in.
Calm
The area is soothed and you leave with aftercare for shaving and products.
Still deciding?
Consultation is free. You will be told plainly whether UA Hydra Glow is the right fit, and what to do instead if it is not.

UA Hydra Glow, answered
Will my underarms be white afterwards?
No. The goal is the area looking even with the skin around it, not lightened past it. Anyone promising more than that is overselling.
How many sessions?
A short course is usual. The number is set at assessment and reviewed as it runs.
Can I shave afterwards?
Not immediately. Give it a day or two and use a fresh blade.
Would laser be better for me?
Sometimes. If the pigment is deeper than the surface, Pico Laser on the underarm may be the better route, and that is a conversation for the consultation.
When will I see a difference?
The skin usually looks smoother and less irritated straight away. Any change in tone is slower and depends on what is causing the darkening in the first place.
How long does it last?
It depends almost entirely on what happens between sessions. Shaving, friction from tight clothing and some deodorants all work against it, and you will be told which of those matter for you.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Often sequenced with underarm laser work when pigment is the main problem. The order matters and is set at consultation.
