Pico Laser Facial
Ultra-fast laser pulses for a clearer, more even-looking complexion.
- Melasma
- Dark spots
- Acne marks
- Uneven tone
- Enlarged pores
What is Pico Laser Facial?
Pico Laser fires in picoseconds — trillionths of a second. The pulse is short enough to shatter pigment mechanically rather than by heating it, which is why it can be worked over Filipino skin tones with less of the burning and rebound darkening that older heat-based lasers carried.
It is a device treatment, not a cream and not an injectable. The pigment it breaks up is cleared by your own body over the following weeks, which is why the change is gradual and why a course is almost always needed. Outcomes vary from person to person and nothing here is guaranteed.
It will not lift loose skin, it will not stop new pigment forming, and it will not make melasma permanently go away. Melasma in particular is a condition to be managed rather than cured — it responds, and it comes back when it is provoked by sun or hormones. Anyone who promises you otherwise is selling, not assessing.
- Time
- Depends on the area treated, decided at assessment
- Downtime
- Usually little. Redness, and spots darkening before they flake, can happen
- Sessions
- Planned as a course, spaced weeks apart
- Results
- Gradual, building across the course
- Comfort
- Brief hot snaps, like a rubber band flicked against the skin
Is this the right treatment for you?
Pigment that creams have not moved?
This is the treatment most often reached for when topical lightening has stalled.
Willing to do a course rather than one session?
Pigment clears in stages. One session shows direction, not a finished result.
Able to commit to daily sunscreen?
Sun exposure after treatment undoes the work faster than anything else. If SPF is not realistic right now, say so at consultation.
Looking for texture as well as tone?
The collagen response also softens acne marks and the look of pores, though that builds more slowly than the pigment change.
When it is not appropriate
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, active infection or inflamed skin in the treatment area, recent isotretinoin use, photosensitising medication, and a history of keloid scarring all need to be raised before anything is booked. Tell the practitioner about every medication and supplement you are taking.
What happens in a session
Consult
Your skin is assessed, pigment type identified, and the zones mapped. Photos are taken as a baseline.
Prepare
The area is cleansed and numbing applied where needed. Eye shields are fitted before any pulse is fired.
Treat
Pico pulses are delivered over the planned zones. Most people describe brief hot snaps rather than steady pain.
Clear and aftercare
The skin is cooled and soothed, and you leave with written aftercare. Pigment keeps clearing for weeks.
Still deciding?
Consultation is free. You will be told plainly whether Pico Laser Facial is the right fit, and what to do instead if it is not.

Pico Laser Facial, answered
Does it hurt?
Many people feel brief hot snaps, like a rubber band flicked against the skin. Numbing is used where it helps, and settings are adjusted as the session runs.
When will I see a change?
Some brightening is often visible within days, but pigment clears in stages over weeks. The visible change belongs to the course, not the first session.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on how deep the pigment sits and what caused it. You are given a planned number at assessment, reviewed as the course runs.
Is it safe for Filipino skin?
Picosecond pulses are generally better tolerated on deeper skin tones than older heat-based lasers, because less heat is deposited. Settings are still chosen for your skin, and a test area can be done first.
Will the pigment come back?
Melasma in particular can return, especially with sun exposure, pregnancy or hormonal change. Maintenance and sun protection are part of the plan, not an afterthought.
Can I have it before an event?
Leave room. Spots can darken and flake before they fade, so the week before a wedding is the wrong week to start.
When will I see a difference?
Some spots darken first and flake away over the week after a session, which is the treatment working rather than going wrong. The tone change people are actually after tends to appear across the course, not after one visit.
How long does it last?
Pigment that has been cleared stays cleared. New pigment can form, and sun is by far the most common reason it does. Daily sunscreen is not an upsell here — it is the thing that decides whether the course was worth doing.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Frequently run with facials for preparation and recovery, and sometimes with lifting work on a separate schedule. Nothing is stacked on skin that is still settling.
