HIFU Eyes
Ultrasound tightening for the eye area, at a shallower depth.
- Heavy upper lid
- Crepey under-eye
- Tired-looking eyes
- Fine lines at the corner
What is HIFU Eyes?
The skin around the eye is thinner than anywhere else on the face, so HIFU here is delivered at a shallower depth and with more care. The principle is the same: controlled heat at a chosen depth, collagen laid down in response.
This is a subtle treatment. It softens crepe and can lift a little heaviness above the eye, but it does not remove eye bags or replace surgery for a significant hood. Expect a refresh rather than a transformation, and expect to be told if what you want needs something else.
The eye area is thin and unforgiving. This can tighten crepey skin and lift a heavy brow a little; it cannot remove eye bags, it cannot fix dark circles that come from pigment or from the shape of the bone beneath, and it is not a substitute for surgery where there is real excess skin.
- Time
- A short session; set at assessment
- Downtime
- Usually little. Mild puffiness can follow
- Sessions
- Often a single treatment, reviewed after months
- Results
- Build over weeks to months
- Comfort
- Brief warmth around the brow and under the eye, on thin and sensitive skin
Is this the right treatment for you?
Eyes look tired even when you are not?
Crepe and slight heaviness read as tiredness. Both can soften here.
Want subtle rather than obvious?
Subtle is what this delivers. If you want obvious, you will be told what that takes.
Expecting eye bags to go?
They will not. Fat pads under the eye are a surgical matter, and you should hear that at consultation.
Patient?
Months, as with any collagen treatment.
When it is not appropriate
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, active infection or inflamed skin in the treatment area, recent isotretinoin use, photosensitising medication, and a history of keloid scarring all need to be raised before anything is booked. Tell the practitioner about every medication and supplement you are taking. Eye conditions, recent eye surgery, and filler around the eye must all be raised first.
What happens in a session
Consult
The eye area is assessed and what is realistic is explained before anything is booked.
Prepare
The area is cleansed and protection fitted. Depth is set shallower than on the face.
Treat
The handpiece is worked carefully around the orbital area, avoiding the lid itself.
Review
Aftercare is written for you and the result reviewed after a few months.
Still deciding?
Consultation is free. You will be told plainly whether HIFU Eyes is the right fit, and what to do instead if it is not.

HIFU Eyes, answered
Will this get rid of my eye bags?
No. Eye bags are fat pads, not skin laxity, and no ultrasound device moves them. That is a conversation about surgery.
Is it safe this close to the eye?
The depth is set shallower and the lid itself is avoided. Protection is fitted before anything is delivered.
How subtle is subtle?
Enough that people say you look rested rather than ask what you had done. If that is not what you want, say so at consultation.
Can I wear makeup afterwards?
Better to leave it for the rest of the day.
When will I see a difference?
Slowly. The eye area changes subtly and over weeks, and the change is easier to see in photographs than in the mirror.
How long does it last?
Months, with wide variation. Sleep, sun and rubbing the eyes all work against it more than most people expect.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Sometimes paired with treatments aimed at pigment, when the darkness has more than one cause. Which cause you actually have is settled at consultation.
