Exosomes Facial
Exosome therapy applied to the skin to support repair and texture.
- Skin texture
- Dullness
- Fine lines
- Post-treatment recovery
- Loss of firmness
What is Exosomes Facial?
Exosomes are tiny carriers that cells use to signal to one another. Applied to the skin — usually after microneedling or a laser, so they can reach past the surface — they are intended to support the repair response and improve texture and tone over the following weeks.
This is the newest thing on the facial list and the evidence behind it is younger than the evidence behind PRP or a laser. It is offered here and it is not oversold: if what you want is the best-established route to better texture, you should be pointed at one of those instead rather than talked into this.
On its own this sits on the surface, and the surface is not where it is meant to act — which is why it is usually applied after needling or a laser. Beyond that, the honest limit is the evidence: this is newer than the alternatives and less studied. It is a reasonable thing to add to a plan and a poor thing to build one around.
- Time
- Allow an hour, longer when combined with needling or a laser
- Downtime
- Redness for a day or so, depending on what it follows
- Sessions
- A course, spaced and reviewed
- Results
- Gradual across weeks
- Comfort
- Depends entirely on what it follows; on its own, almost nothing
Is this the right treatment for you?
Recovering from a laser or needling?
It is most often used straight after one, which is also when it can actually reach past the surface.
Texture and tone the main complaint?
That is what this is aimed at, rather than lines or volume.
Want the most established option?
Then ask about PRP or a laser. Both have been done for longer and studied more, and that is a reasonable basis for choosing.
Expecting a dramatic change?
There is not one here. It supports a result rather than producing one on its own.
When it is not appropriate
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, active infection or inflamed skin in the treatment area, recent isotretinoin use, photosensitising medication, and a history of keloid scarring all need to be raised before anything is booked. Tell the practitioner about every medication and supplement you are taking. Where it follows needling or a laser, the exclusions for that treatment apply as well and are the stricter of the two.
What happens in a session
Assess
Skin is assessed and it is decided whether this adds anything to the plan.
Prepare
The skin is cleansed, and any needling or laser stage is carried out first.
Apply
The preparation is worked across the treated area.
Review
Assessed across the course rather than after one session.

Exosomes Facial, answered
Does it work?
It is used for this and the early picture is encouraging, but the evidence base is newer and thinner than for PRP or laser work. That is the honest answer and it should be the one you get at consultation too.
Can I have it on its own?
It can be applied on its own, but most of its value comes from following something that has opened a route past the surface. On its own, expect less.
Is it better than PRP?
Not demonstrably. It is different, and which suits you is an assessment decision rather than a ranking.
When will I see a difference?
Gradually across weeks, and largely as part of how the treatment it followed settles.
How long does it last?
Months, with maintenance planned at review rather than assumed.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
It is almost always a combination treatment. Taken alone, expect considerably less from it.
