EMS Training
Whole-body electrical muscle stimulation, coached.
- Little time to train
- Low overall tone
- Plateaued training
- Return to exercise
- Whole-body conditioning
What is EMS Training?
EMS Training puts you in a suit with electrodes over the major muscle groups while a coach takes you through movements. The stimulation makes each movement recruit far more muscle than it otherwise would, which is why sessions are short.
It is exercise — you move, you sweat, and you will ache. It is supervised throughout, and the intensity is set with you rather than at you. People come to it for the time efficiency and stay for the fact that it reaches muscle their training was missing.
Twenty minutes in a suit is not a replacement for a life with movement in it. It is efficient, and it suits people who have no time, but it will not undo a diet and it will not make you fit on its own. Anyone promising that is overselling a good tool.
- Time
- A short session; confirmed at booking
- Downtime
- None. Expect muscle soreness for a day or two
- Sessions
- Usually weekly, as a programme
- Results
- Build across weeks of consistent sessions
- Comfort
- Hard work — the suit contracts the muscle while you move against it
Is this the right treatment for you?
No time for long sessions?
This is the main reason people start, and the sessions really are short.
Coming back after a break?
The coach sets intensity to where you are, not where you were.
Training stalled?
It recruits muscle that voluntary effort tends to miss.
Pacemaker, implant or epilepsy?
Raise it immediately — whole-body stimulation is not appropriate for everyone.
When it is not appropriate
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, a pacemaker or implanted electrical device, hernia in the treatment area, active infection, and any condition affecting circulation or sensation must all be raised before anything is booked. Tell the practitioner about every medication and supplement you are taking. Epilepsy, metal implants, recent surgery, and uncontrolled heart or blood pressure conditions all rule this out or require clearance first.
What happens in a session
Consult
Health history is taken, suitability checked, and a baseline recorded.
Fit
The suit is fitted and the electrodes positioned over the major muscle groups.
Train
A coach takes you through movements while intensity is raised to what you can work with.
Review
The session is logged and the programme adjusted as you progress.

EMS Training, answered
How often can I do it?
Usually weekly. Muscle needs recovery time, and more is not better here.
Will I be sore?
Almost certainly after the first few, and more than you expect. It settles as you adapt.
Is it safe?
For most people, with proper screening — which is why the health history is taken seriously rather than skimmed.
EMS Training or EMS Pilates?
Training is strength-focused; Pilates is control and core-focused. The coach will tell you which suits where you are.
When will I see a difference?
Most people feel stronger within a few sessions. Visible change depends on consistency and on what else is happening outside the clinic.
How long does it last?
As long as you keep training, in whatever form. Stopping entirely returns you to where you started, at the usual rate.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Pairs naturally with body treatments — strength underneath and shape on the surface are different jobs.
