EMS Pilates

Reformer Pilates with EMS, coached.

  • Weak core
  • Poor posture
  • Low control and stability
  • Back that tires easily
  • Return to movement

What is EMS Pilates?

Reformer Pilates works on control, alignment and core stability rather than load. Adding EMS means the muscles you are asked to find and hold are stimulated at the same time, which makes the small stabilising work considerably harder than it looks.

It suits people who want strength without impact, anyone rebuilding after a break, and people whose backs tire from sitting. It is coached throughout and the intensity is set with you, movement by movement.

This is low impact by design, which is its strength and its boundary. It builds control, posture and core stability; it is not a cardiovascular programme and it is not a fat loss treatment. If weight is the goal, you will be told what else has to be in the picture.

Who it is for

Is this the right treatment for you?

Want strength without impact?

Reformer work is controlled and low-impact by design.

Back tires from sitting?

Core and postural work is the point of the method.

Found Pilates too gentle before?

The stimulation changes that considerably.

Pacemaker, implant or epilepsy?

Raise it immediately, as with any EMS work.

When it is not appropriate

Pregnancy or breastfeeding, a pacemaker or implanted electrical device, hernia in the treatment area, active infection, and any condition affecting circulation or sensation must all be raised before anything is booked. Tell the practitioner about every medication and supplement you are taking. Epilepsy, metal implants, recent surgery, and uncontrolled heart or blood pressure conditions all rule this out or require clearance first.

Questions

EMS Pilates, answered

Do I need Pilates experience?

No. The coach takes you through it, and the first sessions are about finding the positions rather than pushing intensity.

Is it good for back pain?

Many people come for exactly that, but raise any diagnosed back condition at consultation so the programme is built around it.

How is it different from EMS Training?

Training is strength and whole-body; Pilates is control, core and alignment. Some people do both.

How often?

Usually weekly. Recovery is part of the programme.

When will I see a difference?

Posture and core control usually change first, often within a few weeks. People around you tend to notice that before you do.

How long does it last?

It holds while the practice continues. Like any movement work, it is a habit rather than a course with an end.

Can I combine it with other treatments?

Works well alongside most things here, because it adds movement rather than recovery time.
